Ahtanum
Alpha Acids (%)
5.7 - 6.3
Description
Ahtanum hops are named for the Ahtanum area near the city of Yakima. This aroma-type cultivar combines pleasant aroma with moderate alpha-acid content. Ahtanum is a good choice for aroma additions, flavor additions, and could be used for moderate bittering. Similar to other American hop cultivars such as Amarillo and Cascade, Ahtanum has a floral and grapefruit character, but it also has some earthy qualities more like what is seen in Willamette and Fuggles.
