Sussex
Alpha-Acid (%)
4.0 - 6.0
Description
Discovered in 2005, this hop variety is apparently the product of wild pollination. Sussex was found adjacent to a field where Pilot hops were grown so it may have some Pilot parentage. Sussex produces flavors similar to Fuggles, but it is distinct and has a unique essential oil profile.
Possible Substitutes
Progress, Whitbread Golding Variety, and UK Fuggles
