Magnum (German)
Alpha-Acid (%)
11.0 - 16.0
This relatively high alpha-acid bittering hop imparts a clean bitter flavor. This makes it useful in any style with high IBUs. Magnum was bred in Germany from Galena and a German male hop plant, but it is also grown in the US. Galena has similar clean bitterness properties. Although, Magnum can impart a subtle spicy, floral, and citrus flavors of its own, these flavors will generally be lost behind its strong bitterness.
