Lactose (Milk Sugar)

Description

This is a non-fermenting sugar derived from milk. It imparts residual sweetness and body. One pound of lactose in a five gallon batch will raise the final specific gravity by about 0.005. Often used in sweet/milk stouts to complement bitter roast grain flavors.
